Hello and welcome to Tobias Talks
unfortunately, this week has been about the same as the majority of the others. It involved a long walk, and tracking my food on MyFitnessPal, losing weight during the week and then putting it back on in the weekend. It's seems to be a relentless cycle. I know it will improve when I manage to stay disciplined over the weekend and eat and drink healthily when others aren't.
Alcohol is without a doubt one of the biggest causes of my weight issues, not just for the actual calorie content in the drink but also the effect is has on my decision making at the time (greasy kebab anyone?) as well as the effect it has on me for the next 2-3 days as my body attempts to stabilise all the systems within my body, including my blood sugar levels, lipid levels, hydration levels and a whole plethora of others that have been thrown out of equilibrium by the highly calorific, highly damaging and debilitating effect of alcohol and poor quality foods.
One silver lining to the above is it becomes very apparent that my body has no idea what it "needs" and cravings are just that, knee jerk responses to a problem it doesn't understand. Alcohol, after all, is a poison and your body is probably rather confused why it is being poisoned on a weekly basis.
I was successful last week with my goal to not eat any sweets. Although sugary things aren't that tempting to me. If I had to avoid cheese then I think I would have a meltdown.
The goal for this week, which only comes to me as I read back over what I've written, seems to be a glaringly obvious one. No alcohol or actually a significantly reduced alcohol amount, say 5 units spread over the whole week. I will let you know how it goes.
