Hello and welcome to Tobias Talks
I'll keep this one short as I don't have a lot to say, I ran a couple of times last week and really enjoyed it. I enjoy running but hate being so heavy. It just makes everything that much more difficult. I don't want to injure or hurt myself so I am taking it easy on my runs for now. I am putting effort in but avoiding speed work and sprints.
It was my anniversary over the weekend so I had a few drinks and ate out at a great local restaurant. It was delicious and great fun but these things do have a way of becoming habitual and since that day I have had 4 beers every evening. I don't drink often at all and frankly just don't enjoy it like I used to but it quickly becomes a habit again. I feel the same applies to fatty foods, your body craves it again and again and it's a case of breaking the cycle. As I've mentioned before, I am very much looking forward to the colder weather and the high volume/low calorie foods that go along with it, such as stews and soups.
As the nights draw in and the weather gets colder I'll likely move my running to the gym, which will inevitably lead to weight lifting again. The long term goal is still to run a half marathon so I don't need tonnes of extra muscle, but realistically a healthy body needs both cardio and weight training so I'll probably mix and match a bit more as time goes on.
So as I said, keeping this one short, goal is keep running, eat soup and be happy.
