Hello and welcome back to Ezra’s Journey!
This month I have some surprising news for you all - I actually went to the gym! Can you believe it? I certainly can’t.
I’ve spoken before about how difficult it is for me to go to the gym. It’s just another chore, really. Now that summer's here and the weather is much nicer, I feel more motivated to head to the gym.
However, there’s a catch. When it comes to me and the gym, I know the motivation is never going to last long. Despite wanting to go, and knowing it’s good for me, a lot of my summer is already planned and I worry the motivation will disappear again because I have other things to focus on.
The main thing I’m spending my summer prepping for is the PGCE Primary course I’m starting in September at University College London. By the end of the month I will be moved into my new house and I have various events planned before I become a student again. Next year will be tough, so I’m trying to enjoy my time before the intensity starts again!
I’m determined to not let my motivation for the gym disappear this time though - I need to stop finding excuses to not go! I felt good after this last session doing chest and biceps and this weekend I’m focusing on legs and back. I would like to get into the habits of going to the gym before work in the mornings, but I know better than to set goals for myself that I can’t achieve.
For now, once or twice a week is an achievable goal for the summer.
